Case Study: Redesigning The London Cosmetic Clinic Website Without Losing SEO

Overview
The London Cosmetic Clinic approached us with a clear objective: modernize their website while preserving the strong search visibility they had already built. Website redesigns often risk traffic loss when SEO is not handled carefully. Our goal was to deliver a fresh, modern user experience while protecting their existing SEO performance and the authority we had been building together since December 2025.
The Challenge
The existing website had built valuable organic visibility over time, but its design, structure, and user experience needed an update. The main challenge was clear:
How do you completely redesign a website without sacrificing its search engine rankings?
This required a strategic approach that balanced design, development, and technical SEO.
Our Approach
1. Strategic Planning and Content Structuring
Before any design work began, we collaborated closely with the client to review the existing website structure, content hierarchy, and SEO assets. Together, we discussed how to improve the organization of information while preserving the relevance of key pages.
This stage included:
- Reviewing page structure and internal linking
- Identifying high-performing content and important landing pages
- Planning improved content organization for better usability and SEO
- Ensuring all existing SEO references would be retained
2. Custom UI/UX Design in Figma
Once the strategy was finalized, we created a fully custom user interface in Figma. This allowed us to reimagine the website with a cleaner, more modern aesthetic while improving user experience and conversion opportunities.
The design process included multiple revision rounds to ensure every detail aligned with the client's brand and business goals.
Key improvements included:
- Modern, professional visual design
- Improved content hierarchy and readability
- Enhanced call-to-action placement
- Better mobile responsiveness
3. Full Website Cloning to a Staging Environment
Before redevelopment began, we cloned the entire existing website to a secure staging environment. This step was critical to preserving all existing SEO elements.
By working from a complete clone, we ensured that important SEO assets remained intact, including:
- Meta titles and descriptions
- URL structure
- Internal linking architecture
- Existing indexed content
- Schema and technical SEO settings
This approach minimized risk and provided a solid foundation for the redesign.
4. Page-by-Page Development Using Elementor Pro
With the approved Figma design and staging site in place, we rebuilt the website page by page using Elementor Pro.
This allowed us to combine custom design flexibility with efficient development, ensuring:
- Pixel-perfect implementation of the approved design
- A lean build focused on page speed
- Responsive layouts across all devices
- Easy future content management for the client
Every page was carefully developed to maintain SEO integrity while significantly improving user experience. This is the same process we follow in our web design services.
5. Launch and Post-Launch SEO Validation
After final approval from the client, we launched the redesigned website.
But launch was only the beginning. We immediately conducted a comprehensive post-launch SEO audit to verify that:
- All metadata was intact
- Redirects functioned correctly
- Internal links remained valid
- Page indexing was unaffected
- Site performance met or exceeded previous benchmarks
This final quality assurance step kept the move as controlled as possible. As with almost any relaunch, Google needed time to re-crawl and re-index the new site, so rankings and traffic dipped temporarily in May 2026 before recovering.
The Results
The redesign was carried out alongside our ongoing SEO campaign for the clinic, so the results are best read together:
- A modern, visually engaging design with clearer content structure and stronger call-to-action placement
- Site Health Score raised from 51 to 95 out of 100 through technical work before and around the relaunch
- Monthly organic clicks grew from about 1,060 at the start of the campaign to 5,490 at the pre-relaunch peak in April 2026, and held at 4,210 in May 2026 during re-indexing
- Google PageSpeed Insights mobile performance score of 89 after launch (May 2026), up from a 78 baseline, with desktop optimisation continuing
- Metadata, URL structure, redirects and internal links preserved through the migration
The full SEO story, including how the site recovered after the relaunch, is in our London Cosmetic Clinic SEO case study.
Key Takeaway
A website redesign does not have to undo the SEO work behind it.
With careful planning, a full staging clone and a structured migration, a site can get a new design and better user experience while keeping the foundations that rankings depend on. Some short-term movement during re-indexing is normal; what matters is that the technical base is strong enough to recover quickly.
For The London Cosmetic Clinic, the result is a website that looks better, is easier to manage, and kept the SEO foundation that supports its growth.
